House Rules

  • Check in - 4pm (or later)
  • Check out - 10am (promptly)
  • Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate early arrival or late departure times as the house requires a minimum of 5 hours to clean before the next group arrives. We appreciate your understanding in this matter
  • Cleaning crew will arrive promptly at 10am on your day of departure
  • House Information Notebook - there is valuable info here regarding emergencies, fireplace, stove, etc  - please read
  • No pets allowed. The owner is highly allergic to dogs and cats
  • No 21st, Hen or Stag Parties
  • No smoking in house
  • No Candles
  • Please do not flush nappies down the toilets
  • Please do not wear shoes in the house. This helps with carpet maintenance. You may wish to bring slippers as the tile floors are cool
  • Exercise caution if you use spray tan or heavy makeup. It tends to stain the fine linens for which there is an associated cost to you if stain cannot be removed
  • Outside Bins:  Blue – Recycle   Green: Non-Recycle   Brown – Food
  • Inside Bins:  Trash cupboard is beside the dishwasher.  Large bins are for non-recycle. Small left side bin(front) is for food, Small left side bin(back) is for broken glass. Recycle bin is next to the glass bins in dining room
  • Stove Switch – to provide power to the stove top, flip the power switch on the wall left of the stove cabinet
  • The 1st 50 liters of fuel oil is included in your stay. We ask that you do not change the heat settings as they are set to best provide for the current season.  Instead, please use the fireplace for additional heat and keep all bedroom and lounge doors closed. Payment for any fuel oil overage is appreciated and cash can be left in an envelope near the meter. The charge is €1.50 per overage liter.
  • When using the dryer, make sure to empty the condenser and lint drawers before starting each cycle for efficient drying. Take care with removing and placing condenser in dryer door to ensure tabs do not break
  • Showers must be staggered. If taken simultaneously it will overtax the water heater and you will run out of hot water. The 2nd floor water heater is independent from the other floors so no worry there. We suggest the group take 3-4 showers simultaneously between the main and lower floor and allow 30 mins for the water heater to rebuild.
  • When going to the beach, please use designated beach towels if you haven't brought your own.  The regular bath towels are fine linen and sand will ruin them
  • Feel free to empty the dehumidifier in the lower level should you feel any dampness. Some people prefer the air really dry in lower level
  • There is a small ravine at the bottom of the backyard hill and a steep hill behind the hedges to the left of the house that are unsafe for small children. Please use caution if you let them play in the lower level of the yard or in the hedges alongside house
  • There is a 11pm neighborhood curfew meaning no loud music or noise outside after 11pm. This maintains a friendly relationship with our neighbors and avoids a visit from the local Garda
